Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer defensive lineman Warren Sapp admits he and a friend were upset with poor service and disparaging treatment they claim to have received from a waitress at a Hallandale sports bar during this week’s World Cup game between the U.S. Men’s National Team and Belgium.

So they left without adding a tip to their $69.39 tab. Sapp, who claims the waitress referred to him and a friend as “boys,” added a note for the 26-year-old waitress. “She kept calling us boys so the tip Fit!” Sapp tweeted.

Sapp, who was inducted into the National Football League Hall of Fame in 2013, was called out when ESPN sports business analyst Darren Revell.

Sapp’s Twitter reply, “Darren, u wasn’t there so #ShooFly.”

According to the New York Daily News, the Upper Deck Sports Bar and Grill waitress said, “I walked over to his table. It was him and one other guy and I said, 'Hey boys, what I can I get you to drink?' And he was like 'We're not boys. I'm a man.’"

She probably calls everyone

She probably calls everyone "boys".

In your case, however, "low class boys" probably would have been more appropriate.

Agree with all the above

Agree with all the above comments. Likely story.

Remember, 'boys' is a term of endearment referring to your youthful appearance. Which, I agree, you don't have anymore....punk.

"What'll you boys

"What'll you boys have?"--Aretha Franklin to Jake and Elwood in the Blues Brothers movie.

It's just a friendly expression. It means nothing. Sapp is wrong.
